Winter Workouts

12/2/2025

Starting in January all of our Winter Workouts will move off-campus for the duration of January and February.

Who: Any 9th-12th grader currently enrolled at Emmaus High School for the 25-26 school year that is interested in trying out for the baseball team.

Where: Sports Factory of the Lehigh Valley (6616 Ruppsville Rd., Allentown, PA 18106)

When: Tuesdays & Fridays from 3pm-5pm and Saturdays from 1pm-3pm.  First day will be Friday, January 2nd.  The last day will be Tuesday, February 24th.

What to expect:  Pitchers and Catchers will start their day by stretching, throwing, hitting and doing defensive work from 3pm-4pm. All non-pitchers and catchers will lift from 3pm-4pm. From 4pm-5pm Pitchers and Catchers will lift. All non-pitchers and catchers will complete their throwing, hitting and defensive work from 4pm-5pm.

Attire/Equipment: All baseball equipment you bring to a typical baseball practice should be brought to these workouts. There will be no cleats allowed. Please wear sneakers or turf shoes. Shorts or sweatpants can be worn. It is recommended that catchers wear sweatpants everyday. Only Emmaus HS colors should be worn (Green, Black, Grey, Yellow, Gold, White). If you need to store your equipment at school during the day, you can lock it in the boys locker room across from the gymnasium.

Transportation: Since we are out of season, there is no transportation to the facility. It is encouraged that people set up carpools or ask a Juniors or Seniors with their license to drive them. This is less than ideal, but unfortunately this is the hand we are dealt.

Baseball Notebook:  Every athlete will be required to have a blank notebook and a pen in their bag that they bring with them to each and every workout. This notebook will be dedicated to baseball. It will be incredibly important to have this on day one of workouts.

Church Lane Workouts:  If weather cooperates this Winter, there is a chance Pitchers and Catchers will go to Church Lane for some of their workouts on Saturdays. This will be announced in advance via X/email. The weather would have to be dry with a windchill above freezing.

Cancellations:  Any cancellations or changes to our schedule will be announced first via X and secondly via email. Please follow our X account (@_EHSBaseball) for the latest information.

There are 3 things each athlete must complete in order to participate in Winter Workouts at Sports Factory:

1.  Each athlete must complete the Sports Factory of the Lehigh Valley Waiver (link below). Athletes will not be permitted to participate in workouts until this form is completed.

2.  Each athlete must submit payment to Coach Haas. Each athlete will need to turn in a check made out to "EHS Baseball Booster Club"  in the amount of $50. This will cover the cost to rent the facility for our workouts. Coach Haas will collect checks at the end of our first workout on January 3rd. If you are unable to attend, Coach Haas can collect your check the first workout you attend.

3.  Signed Parent/Coach Communication Plan. As outlined in an email that was sent out a while back, there have been major changes to the East Penn Parent/Coach Communication Plan (link below). If you have not done so already, everyone is encouraged to read through it at your earliest convenience. A copy of the communication plan that has been signed by the athlete and parent should be handed in on the first day of workouts or the first day that you attend. Signed communication plans will be collected with checks at the end of our first workout on January 3rd.

2 + 3.  Checks and Completed Parent/Coach Communication Plan should be placed in an envelope together with the athlete's name on the outside.

Failure to complete any 1 of the 3 above mentioned tasks will prevent athletes from participating in workouts until they are completed.

If you have any further questions, please contact Coach Haas.
